French composer Lili Boulanger (1893-1918) is well known as the first woman to win the prestigious Prix de Rome in 1913. Although she was plagued by illness and a poor immune system from the age of two, Lili was a prolific composer, writing numerous choral, solo vocal and instrumental works.
